HISTORY HISTORY OF THE BUILDING The building was rebuilt in 1925 by Georgios Adamopoulos in order to house his family, his wife Vasiliki and his four children, Lefkothea, Chrysanthi, Andreas and Alexandra. Georgios Adamopoulos emigrated to America, to Manchester, in 1911. He arrived at Ellis Island as a furrier, (according to Ellis Island records), but initially worked as a lumberjack according to his accounts. He returned to Greece in 1923. During his time in America, he sent remittances to his family, parents and siblings. A reminder of his journey is the trunk of his return luggage, located in DIVISION 1. The house was abandoned by the family probably in 1962 and was rebuilt in 1977 by Andrew Adamopoulos.
